Why Regional? Why not multi-state Mega-Centers, located in far off places?

In the last decade, our industry has seen a huge variety of companies being sold, absorbed, and sometimes destroyed, along with the customer service they provided. Our industry, where our services are concerned, is not at all like a typical retail purchase or product. After all, it’s not like going to the hardware store and buying a light bulb. It’s intricate, complex, and sometimes involves interaction with local authorities in the process of performing some of the services a customer might have purchased. Once these services have been tampered with, the local community is forced to use services that might not be included in their best interests or needs.

Now, with the resurgence of regional monitoring stations, who do you trust? The company you purchased from, sold their company. They promised you things, identified with you on all of your needs, and they provided and fulfilled your service agreement. But what you ended up with after they sold their company or entered into a merger with a Mega-Center, wasn’t what you purchased at all. TMS understands this and that’s the sole reason for our regional monitoring.

Why Regional? For local alarm companies it means there’s comfort and understanding. It also means that when you talk to the monitoring center, or the alarm system needs to talk to the monitoring center, you don’t have to be routed through huge telephone company networks all over the country or, in some cases, multiple phone companies. A real partnership with the local alarm dealers and local monitoring is what is needed. It’s been seen in the past, but it disappeared. We are bringing that local dealer-friendly core back to our industry.

For the end user, the alarm system owner, it means your system is monitored and serviced by local companies, who understand local laws and local expectations. We know the meaning of customer service. We have genuine care and concern for our dealers and their monitored customers. After all they’re our neighbors and customers.

Evolving out of the ashes of major consolidations, a new era of customer service in 24-hour central station monitoring is born.

Over the years, in discussions about procedures and ramifications about the Mega-Centers, one thing rang true. A Mega-Center can run efficiently with tens of thousands of accounts to a certain point. But one fact remained. While it’s a business that can function with efficiencies, it’s a business that can’t function with care and concern for the individual customer’s needs.

In the minds of the Mega Centers, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. That’s what the dealer faces, conflict with special considerations for individualized service. A Mega Center can't run efficiently with special instructions.
